Brews on 1st stumbled down the stretch of the spring season losing 5 of their last 7 games. Ultimately being capped off with a 1-1 performance in playoffs – getting bounced in the second round and ultimately finishing in a disappointing 9th place.
With many positives to take away from the season – centering around improved defensive play, and hotter bats. The boys will continue to build and grow on their journey to championship softball.
The front office found themselves again, scratching their heads attempting to find some off season moves necessary to bring a championship home.
There were some sports to fill headed into summer – Dylan Patel (DP) and Jake McClune (Hillbilly) both had their contracts expire with no extension offered. Along with elite defensive outfielder – Marcus Hill (Cat Hunter) who pulled a hamstring in the playoffs last season and has been placed on the 21 Day IL. Brews on 1st will keep the media up to date on the latest Cat Hunter rehab news.
Management once again turned to the Free Agent market to help fill some holes. The options were slim pickings but Brews on 1st still made out with the best player on the market – Outfielder, Brock DeLisle.

Brock can help shore up the outfield play while also bringing some serious pop to their batting order.
Coming into Summer League fresh, Brews on 1st were eying a 2-0 night to start their season off with a bang. Beginning with a rivalry game – The Good Guys. The boys jumped out to an early lead thanks to some great pitching from James Tucker (Tucksauce) and great defensive play from our outfield.
Finding themselves up 10-3 headed into the 5th, all that mattered was hanging onto the lead and keeping momentum for game 2. With the game beginning to tighten up in the 6th inning, a lazy blooper was hit down the line in left. Newcomer, Brock came charging in to make an incredible sliding catch in fair territory (Shaunna, you get that?).
The bats stayed hot, including a homerun from both Brock and Jake Leclaire (Louie V) as Brews on 1st cruised to a 18-7 win in game one.

Game one saw production from the top half of the order while game two (Flint Tropics) saw production stem from the bottom half of the order. Including a two triple and one double game from Brock.
Brian Oldani (FloSho) had a 1-5 second game including a backwards K (meaning he owes a case to the team) but his one hit was a homerun. With good defensive plays by Jon Cook (Lil Cookin) and Louie V at their respective positions helped boost Brews on 1st to a 14-5 win in game 2.

Starting the summer season off 2-0 in a good confidence and momentum boost for the team. With two weeks off prior to their next game, hopefully management can remove Cat Hunter from the IL and slot him back into their hard-nosed outfield.
