Translation, Cam Whitmore is still committed to Villanova.

As soon as Jay Wright announced his retirement, the re-recruitment of Villanova’s top freshman began. Four-star, New Jersey guard Mark Armstrong recommitted earlier in the week and now five-star forward from the DMV Cam Whitmore will stay with the Wildcats.

These are both huge wins from newly named head coach Kyle Neptune. If there is a mass exodus of recruits when Jay retires, things get hairy for a first-year head coach.

Villanova is still meeting with four-star, Texas product Brendan Hausen. I think Whitmore and Armstrong staying with the program helps keep Hausen around as well.
