The Masters is coming up this weekend and you need to be prepared to win some money. You won’t find any help with that here, but I’ll give you my picks anyway.

The first bet I make and one of my favorite bets of golf tournaments is the leader after the first round. I find 2-3 guys with huge numbers next to their name and hope like hell that they get hot for 18 holes. My guys on Thursday are Ryan Palmer (+8000) and Brian Gay (+20000).

Next is players to finish in the Top 20. This is where you’re gonna make your money. Plus odds only in Top 20. Here’s five: Zach Johnson (+500), Matt Kuchar (+275), Jason Day (+138), Tony Finau (+110), Collin Morikawa (+110).

Top 5 picks are tough. Need somebody solid all weekend. Consistent. Fairways and greens. Xander Schauffele (+500) and Abraham Ancer (+1100) jumped out at me immediately.

And for the main course I take four guys: A longshot, two midlevel guys and a favorite.

Longshot – Brendon Todd (+3300)

Midlevel – Sungjae Im (+800) and Daniel Berger (+550)

Favorite – Jon Rahm (+275)

Jon Rahm and his wife just had a baby. The story writes itself. He’s your champion.

Sprinkle a little bit on Kevin Kisner somewhere. Stay away from Jordan Spieth and Baby Back Bryson.
