Canton native; Donnie Trosper has qualified for his third PGA event in less than a year after firing a -7, 64on Monday. His previous two events were the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club, and the following week, the Workday Charity Open at Muirfield Village Golf Club, Jack’s course. After missing both cuts, Donnie kept to the grindstone and worked on his game in Florida throughout the winter.

I have had the privilege of watching Donnie do his thing since high school. And the pleasure of caddying for Donnie in his first two PGA events. Ever since then I knew this kid had the ability to be something special. He is the best ball striker I have seen, and when he’s dialed in, good luck beating him.

Since there is a World Gold Championship event this weekend, Donnie qualified for the secondary PGA event in Puerto Rico; an event he missed out on last year in a playoff. With a watered down field, Donnie is looking to make a splash among the golf community and begin to turn some heads on his way to securing more starts and his tour card.
Donnie will be rocking a Metro Detroit Golfers hat to represent his hometown, a group started by Mike Sullivan and Kyle Bogenschutz. David Hall, from Hall Financial teamed up with MDG and Donnie to sponsor his upcoming events. Allowing Donnie to focus on his game rather than worry about paying for events.

Everyone show your support for the local star, Donnie Trosper! Good luck kid!
