You know those moments in life where you’ll always remember where you were at when you found out? Times like when your TV screamed at you “WOAH, HE HAS TROUBLE WITH THE SNAP….”
The moment I learned of EVERMORE is definitely in the top five of my list.
My twelve-year old cousin texted me at 8:12am this morning to deliver the news: Taylor Swift is dropping another SURPRISE album. Midnight. TONIGHT. (She actually said “OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG TALOR SWIFT IS COMING PIT WITH ANOTHER SURPOSIE ALBUM” – spelling errors and all). I kid you not when I say I got CHILLS upon this announcement. I think I even shed a few tears. Honestly, I was just UNPREPARED.
I feel like I can’t find the right words to describe my emotions. Excited beyond belief is a good start though. This year has been SH*T, but Taylor is literally out here thriving and giving the world exactly what we need – an escape from reality. Truly, she has always been there for me in the darker pages of my life – and I think most Swifties would agree with me on this!!
ALSO her birthday is on Sunday, yet here she is, gifting us with a SECOND masterpiece since the start of quarantine. She is HANDS DOWN my favorite person to walk the face of this Earth. To say I love her would be the understatement of the century.
I can’t wait to play it on repeat for the next several weeks until everyone closest to me has memorized every single pivotal and magical lyric too.
Sticking to tradition, here are my predictions for what I think will be my top 5 favorite tracks solely based on titles:
champagne problems
tolerate it
happiness
long story short
evermore (which features the ever-talented Bon Iver)
Please give me allllllllllllll the feels Taylor!!!!!

CrimeDawg’s Note: I’m a big Taylor Swift guy, always have been always will be. My fifth grade crush introduced me to Taylor, and I still can’t listen to a Tim McGraw song without thinking of T Swizzy. I was one of the first people to buy her RED album, which saved me in High School. I had that album in my ’08 Taurus until it was totaled in a Christmas Eve car crash in 2013, luckily, the album survived.
Artists nowadays don’t put out two albums in a year, it just doesn’t happen anymore. Here Taylor is releasing “Sister” albums – I’ve never heard that phrase before, but I dig it. I listened to ‘Folklore’ earlier this year in Northern Michigan sleeping in a Tent during the Gaylord Focker Golf Extravaganza – my favorite off of that one was ‘The Last Great American Dynasty‘ – talk about a HEATER!
When I learned the news this morning I was shocked, actually, amazed would be a better word. Immediately hit up CMoss but she was already ahead of me. Now, I’ll follow her lead and give my top 5 favorite tracks based on name alone:
Cowboy Like Me
Willow
Gold Rush
Closure
Happiness
Taylor, let’s friggin’ go! I’m pumped!
