To be quite honest, I was very shocked to see that the Tribe did in fact clinch a playoff berth. This comes from their inconsistent play, struggle to get the bats going throughout the year, not to mention their recent 8 game losing streak. An 8 game losing streak that occurred, mind you, as the very hot White Sox and Twins began sneaking up in the division standings.
It took to the 10th inning, but the Tribe managed to sneak by division rival Chicago White Sox taking a 5-3 victory. This can be attested to a José Ramírez walk-off shot. Being down 3-2 in the bottom of the 10th, with men on first and second, Ramírez would hit A SWING AND A DRIVE, TO DEEP RIGHT FIELD, to secure the team’s playoff berth.
Ramírez is the 9th player ever, to hit a walk-off, the same time the team clinched a playoff spot.
The Tribe will clinch with a 31-24 record, being 3 games behind the first place White Sox.
