Not a great outing by his standards today. 5.0 innings, 10 strikeouts, 1 earned run. Normal pitchers would kill for those numbers. Beibs has struck out double digits in 6 of 9 outings. Nice.
He’s now 7-0 with a 1.25 ERA. He has a WHIP below 1.00 and a K/BB ratio near 7:1. He has more strikeouts that the Tigers top three starters combined.
Couple of big hits for Carlos Santana the baseball player, bullpen was lights out for 4.0 innings and another Brad Hand job in the ninth inning for the major league leader in saves.
But, the Indians make up no ground on the division again. The Twins won, because Tigers, and the White Sox won, because Royals.
Hold the phone, it’s a Labor Day Weekend miracle. The Tigers won a game. Indians now a game ahead of Minnesota for the second in the Central.
