Indians Walk Off the Best Closer in Baseball

Milwaukee’s Josh Hader had not allowed a hit in 11.2 innings entering the game. Zero hits. None.

35 at bats. 35 outs.

The Cleveland Indians went 2-for-2 against Josh Hader.

Oscar Mercado merc’ed Hader for a leadoff double in the ninth. Hader spiked a breaking ball for a wide pitch to move Mercado up to third. Then my boy Cesar Hernandez delivered a walk-off single passed a drawn in infield to win it for the Tribe. Bat flip! Wahoo earned!

This was Hernandez’s first walk off for the club, the first this year and the Indians 217th walk-off at Progressive Field (one name change since opening in 1994).

Most walk offs at the new stadiums? Bitch you guessed it! James Howard Thome.

Huge win for the Indians. Seems like Minnesota and Chicago will never lose. Had to win to keep pace.

I’m so drunk. Here’s some highlights.

24-15 (65-41)
