Steve Mariucci was born and raised in the U.P. in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He’s a native Yooper. He said at the groundbreaking ceremony,

“My village is the U.P. that’s where I’m from, thats where you’re from, and people from the U.P. take care of people from the U.P. Yoopers take care of Yoopers”

I’ve always loved Mooch. He was my first head coach as a young Lions fan and I’ve watched countless hours of NFL Network over the years. When I was growing up, I’d watch all 8 hours of the Super Bowl NFL GameDay Morning including each 3 hour pregame show every Sunday of the Regular Season and Playoffs. That’s alot of Pregame show.

It’s awesome to see someone give back to the community. If you don’t know what a Beacon House is, it’s a place for family’s of patients and patients themselves to go while staying at the Hospital. It offers a place to escape, read, pray, and rest. The house Mooch helped build is only steps away from the hospital in Marquette.

You can read up on it here.

Now here’s some highlights of the Man, Myth, Legend… Mooch.
