After being the cause of injuring a fellow team, rising star linebacker Mack Wilson finds himself suffering a injury of his own, as the Browns training camp kickoffs. On practice on Tuesday, the Browns’ curse continues, as Wilson was carted off the field to an apparent knee injury.
After further evaluation, it was indicated that Wilson hyper-extended his knee and is expected to miss major time this season, with possible surgery to come, though an exact timeline is too early to tell. This comes as a major set back to the team, as they are already thin at the middle linebacker spot with the recent release of Pro Bowler Joe Schobert, and now will rely on their youthful backups Sione TakiTaki and rookie Jacob Phillips.
Wilson is coming off of major criticism, after allegedly injuring running back Nick Chubb during practice through his aggressive tackling during a slowed down practice run. Wilson started 14/16 games in his 2019 rookie season, with 82 total tackles.
