Every single time the bat found the ball for the Royals it was a missile and maybe found the empty seats beyond the fence. In a game that started so well, ended so bad and Tigers fall back to .500 at 2-2 for the season.

Top 4 Observations from the game:

1- Jacoby Jones might be developing into a super star. With a go ahead bomb on Saturday and a number 1 top play on ESPN from yesterday, watch out. He just kept his momentum going today with a early 3 run home run in the 2nd inning.

2- Bullpen sucks but, honestly, I don’t remember the last time we had a good bullpen.

3- We probably win this game or at the bare minimum the score would have been a little closer if Michael Fulmer wasn’t on a pitch count. That sucks and it hurt today. Kyle Fuckhouser and Beau Burrows both made their major league debuts and they didn’t do great. I’ve had my eyes on these guys for years because, when you are in tank mode for 6 seasons, you find yourself looking at every top 30 prospect in the organization and studying them and making assumptions about their careers. I think they will be okay in the future but tough showing tonight.

4- I’m not going to lie. I felt dirty watching this game. With the news coming out today with all the Marlins having Covid now, it just didn’t seem like baseball should be a top priority right now with the way they are doing it. Don’t get me wrong though, I was going nuts when we were up 5-1 after 2 innings.

Post Game– We will be back in action tomorrow night back at Comerica vs the Royals. I think we will be fine for this short season and the only reason is Ron Gardenhire. I believe he is one of the best in the MLB and will have the guys ready to play very early. I’ll be back tomorrow night with more thoughts about the game.
