The table is set for Baker Mayfield to prove himself now with the addition of tackle Jedrick Wills out of Alabama. Though the rumors surrounding trading for veteran Pro Bowler Trent Williams ended up not to become true, the Browns did sign 2016 First Team All-Pro tackle Jack Conklin this off season to beef up the struggling o-line.
With Wills more than likely going to the left side of the line, having both of these two players on both sides of the line, I entrust will help reduce the duress that Baker had last season as he was sacked 41 times in the 2019 season.
I think Wills was the safe pick when picking a lineman, where he only gave up only 1 sack in 771 snaps at his time in Tuscaloosa. There will be no excuses now for Baker to make plays in the pocket, as Wills and Conklin should be the two missing pieces on the line to give Baker time to throw to his offensive weapons he has with Landry and OBJ.
